Cabcharge Accepted on Every Trip Across Melbourne

Silver Taxi Melbourne accepts Cabcharge on every trip, seven days a week. Rated 4.9 stars from 55 Google reviews, we are one of the most trusted Cabcharge taxi providers in Melbourne. If your employer, government department, healthcare organisation, or insurer uses Cabcharge, you can use it with us without any extra steps or paperwork on your end.

We are an approved Cabcharge provider and a TAC and WorkSafe Victoria transport provider. Corporate account holders, government workers, and insurance-funded patients across Melbourne regularly travel with us using Cabcharge. We accept physical Cabcharge cards, Cabcharge eTickets, and the Cabcharge Digital Pass. Surcharge information for each payment type is set out clearly in the section below.

Types of Cabcharge We Accept

There are three Cabcharge payment products and each works slightly differently. Here is what to expect with each one.

Physical Cabcharge Card

The traditional grey or yellow card issued to corporate and government account holders. Your driver swipes it on the in-vehicle EFTPOS terminal at the end of the trip. A 5% service fee is applied by the Cabcharge network. This is an industry-standard charge set by Cabcharge, not by Silver Taxi Melbourne. It appears on your Cabcharge statement rather than the taxi receipt.

5% Cabcharge network fee applies
Cabcharge eTicket

An eTicket is a one-time digital authorisation sent to your phone or email by your travel coordinator or case manager. No physical card is needed. You show the code on your phone at the end of the trip and the driver enters it manually. eTickets are ideal for one-off or infrequent travellers who do not hold a permanent Cabcharge card.

No surcharge
Cabcharge Digital Pass

The Digital Pass is available through the MyRide app or the Cabcharge app on your smartphone. At the end of your trip, open the app and generate a payment code. Your driver enters or scans it on the terminal. The Digital Pass is increasingly used by frequent corporate and government travellers as an alternative to carrying a physical card.

No surcharge

Other Payment Methods We Accept

In addition to Cabcharge, we accept all major payment methods for your convenience.

Visa / MCCredit card

Who Uses Cabcharge in Melbourne

Cabcharge is the standard payment method for government workers, medical patients, law firms, corporate employees, and anyone funded through TAC or WorkSafe Victoria. If your employer, insurer, or government department has set up a Cabcharge account, you can use it for eligible transport without any paperwork on your end. Just present your card, eTicket, or open the app at the end of the trip.

In Melbourne, we regularly transport government department staff between the Dandenong Government offices, Clayton Research Park, and Melbourne CBD. Healthcare workers at Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong Hospital, and Frankston Hospital use Cabcharge accounts managed by their facilities. Law firms and accounting offices in Dandenong South use corporate Cabcharge cards for client transport and staff airport transfers.

TAC and WorkSafe patients across Melbourne also use Cabcharge for medical transport to appointments at Dandenong Hospital, Monash Medical Centre in Clayton, and Peninsula Private Hospital in Frankston. If you are a TAC or WorkSafe patient, visit our TAC and WorkSafe transport page for how booking and standing appointments work.

Setting Up a Corporate or Government Cabcharge Account

If your organisation does not yet have a Cabcharge account, the setup process is handled through Cabcharge directly. Once your account is active, we can register it with us so your team can book without needing to arrange payment each time. Here is how it works.

Contact your organisation's finance or travel coordinator to request a Cabcharge corporate account. Government departments and healthcare organisations typically already have one.
Once the account is approved, Cabcharge issues physical cards or eTicket authorisations for the relevant staff or patients.
Call Silver Taxi Melbourne on 0412 456 588 to register your organisation. We note your account details so repeat bookings run without delays.
Your team books trips as needed. All fares are processed via Cabcharge and consolidated on your monthly account statement with full trip records.
Monthly statements from Cabcharge include date, pickup, destination, distance, and fare for each trip, suitable for accounting and reimbursement records.
For recurring transport needs such as daily staff shuttles or regular patient transport, we can arrange scheduled pickups on request.

To register your corporate or government account, or to set up regular transport for TAC, WorkSafe or healthcare clients, call 0412 456 588 or email book@silver-taximelbourne.com.au.
